Description:

This ' well appointed', idyllic  Tudor farmhouse  is Grade-2-Listed and set in a picturesque  rural setting surrounded on all sides by rolling fields and meadows where roe deer are frequently seen. Public footpaths are close to the house.

It is a half-timbered house with extensive southerly facing gardens rich with birdlife, which provides wonderful, safely fenced country fun and freedom for children and relaxation for adults. The parlour wing of this medieval farmhouse (mentioned in Pevsner's book of Suffolk) dates back to 1550 the rest is thought to be earlier.

The house is laid out over three floors, with all rooms beamed. There is a log fire and a baby grand piano in the diningroom and a delightful drawing room both with flat T.Vs, as are there in all the bedrooms, and there are two DVD players to happily cater for differing tastes in a large group. The young and sporty could have fun playing table tennis tournament in the games/gym room or outdoors on the giant trampoline.

The enclosed courtyard is ideal for outdoor meals in the summer and has direct access to the well-equipped kitchen.

Catered evening meals can be arranged or Chinese and Indian meals delivered.

Many excellent restaurants for all tastes may be found in nearby towns and countryside.

There are 2 leisure centres in close towns and many stately homes to visit amid the great and varied delights of Suffolk.

A beach hut could be used in Felixstowe only 25 minutes drive away.

The enclosed garden in the summer has a spectacular display of clematis and roses and is rich with birdlife. A peaceful writer's retreat. A croquet set is available for garden entertainment.

( Do you have a special interest course you'd like considered to be set up as a residential course?

We anticipate that from time to time special interest courses may be organised  and put on this main page, e.g. painting, madrigal singing, embroidery, medieval architecture and life-style, art and music appreciation, ancient Suffolk Churches etc etc. Anyone interested in these subjects or any others they would like should contact ourselves on the given numbers and we shall endeavour to find a teacher/ lecturer on that subject.)
